Safari Blue Tour

This is a full-day boat tour in traditional hand-built sailing dhows finished to the highest comfort and safety standards. It is Zanzibar’s most popular excursion and has been providing fun days out since 1996. Activities on Safari Blue include sailing, snorkelling, swimming, sunbathing, exploring, feasting, observing, and playing.

A Safari Blue day is jam-packed with exciting activities. Menai Bay is dotted with secluded sandbanks, rugged island scenery, uninhabited islets, untouched marine life, and turquoise waters. Snorkelling Glide through the warm Indian Ocean, admiring the rich and varied marine life visible through the transparent waters. In the morning, we snorkel over two neighbouring reefs. Sandbank mid-morning, we arrive at a large powdery sandbank. From here, enjoy the pristine sands, swim in the shallow waters or simply lay on the beach and relish the warmth of the tropical sun. Swim from the sandbank, boat and Kwale Island, the day is filled with opportunities to play in the stunning waters. Dolphins Menai Bay is a marine-protected area and a sanctuary for humpback and bottlenose dolphins. Dolphins are seen on 90% of our trips. Sunbathe on the sandbank or on the Kwale Island beach, relax and bathe in the sun under the clear Zanzibar sky. Feast Our Kwale Island restaurant is ready to serve you as soon as you arrive. Feast on delicious grilled fresh seafood with local sauces.

Your meal is followed by a tasting of 10-15 exotic fruits served by the Crew. Afterwards, sip on Amarula and coffee. Ngalawa Weather permitting, sail on a traditional double-outrigger canoe used by local fishermen. Explore Kwale Island is a great place to explore – climb an ancient baobab tree, walk along the beach, view coral formations and discover hermit crabs scurrying about Dhow Sail On your return to Fumba, the crew raises the lateen sails while you make a leisurely voyage back as the sun sets on your glorious day in paradise.
